This Psalm has a passage that is full of meaning in the death and resurrection of Jesus. David says he lies down and sleeps, then rises again because the Lord sustains him. Death is like sleep to us. When we die daily we both die to self, and rest in perfect peace. And our rising is in the life and resurrection of Jesus.
So he becomes "my glory" and the lifter of my head.
